・・・Biography・・・

Ellin Blumenthal is a Chicago-area artist.  She earned a degree in Art from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a concentration in ceramics. Her painting began in 2005 at The Art Center in Highland Park, IL.  She has exhibited in class shows and, through their outreach program, had her first solo show in June, 2010.

She has since exhibited in group shows at the Heller Nature Center, in Highland Park, IL and Perficalsense Gallery in Evanston, IL., where she will have a new show in April 2013.

Her series "It's all about the dogs" was accepted into the 40th Annual Pilsen Art Open House, a juried show in Chicago, IL. Other juried shows include the North Shore Art League, Winnetka, IL and Northbrook Library, Northbrook, IL.

Her work was included in the 2010, 2011 & 2012 editions of the literary and visual arts magazine, East On Central and is also shown at Gallery3, Houston, TX. Her commissioned work has found its way into the homes of the many "like-minded" animal lovers among us. Ms. Blumenthal's expressive paintings reflect her fascination with the facial expressions of our pets and the joy and emotional connection they bring to our lives.

Skyline Magazine columnist, Ann Gerber, had this to say about Ms. Blumenthal's paintings:

"You'd swear you can hear them pant when near one of her
Portrait's of man's best friend."
